6th Annual Oktoberfest Event Coverage
It's hard to believe it's been 6 years since we first opened our doors up to the community and began hosting our favorite event on the calendar. Not only does this show mean that we don't have to catalog and pack and unpack all of our parts, load up and drive long distances, but this event just continues to have that same relaxed atmosphere that we were aiming to achieve so many years ago. In part, this could be due to the weather. Timing is everything when it comes to the forecast and we could not have engineered a better day for Oktoberfest. Unfortunately one week earlier that was not the case and a large portion of the eastern part of our state was inundated with more rain than it could handle. This meant that more than a few customers and attendees were literally trapped in their towns due to roads that were either closed or washed away all together. We hope that they are able to rebuild and repair quickly and we look forward to seeing them again next year. Those people, and the other loyal Oktoberfest goers are also a huge part of what keeps the atmosphere what it is. We truly do feel like we are being supported when we see such large numbers in attendance. We appreciate the kind words, and even if it is just the large steins of beer talking, we feel the love. And speaking of the beer, that could also have something to do with it. The beer is just another necessary ingredient in the recipe for making Oktoberfest what it is. We know that not everyone is a drinker, but on that Saturday even the most socially awkward people come out of their shell and strike up conversations that they may not normally at any other event of the year. Aviator Brewing Company has been very consistent in their attendance and we've been able to clean them out each and every year, while the German Grille keeps things authentic and brings more than enough for everyone. This year we added in El Taco Cartel just to spice things up a bit (see what we did there?) and we think having options is a good thing. Feedback is always welcomed, however. And what would Oktoberfest be without the cars? We're always impressed each and every year with the huge variety of German vehicles that come from all over the country just to hang out. Everything from old air cooled builds to exotic super cars and everything in between. So take a minute to check out what you missed or just check out some photos of what you saw. As always a huge thank to everyone who came out and we look forward to many more years of Oktoberfest. Prost!
