Description

Modern Porsches must meet ever-growing sound and stringent European emissions regulations that have made their way stateside. The GTS pushes over 500 hp through a downpipe that is possibly the most restrictive exhaust piece we’ve ever seen on a performance vehicle.

The eTurbo turbocharger in the T-Hybrid system offers an advantage over a traditional turbo design. To guarantee sustained performance with an ideal air-fuel mixture ratio, Porsche uses a very large exhaust diameter. Without assistance from the eTurbo, these larger flow cross-sections in the exhaust components would result in significant turbo lag. The electric motor drastically shortens the time required for the turbo to spool up, meaning that the full boost pressure is consistently available within a very short time. This ensures that the engine maintains the ideal air-fuel mixture ratio and still builds up torque quickly – almost immediately. In spite of this potential for high exhaust flow, gasses are choked by a massive 8” GPF filter and restrictive catalytic converter.

SATISFYING SOUND

Given the design and unequal length primary tubes on the factory manifolds, inherently the exhaust note will be less flat-six roar and more reminiscent of a 930 Turbo growl. We sought to elevate enjoyable sound characteristics where possible within the confines of the factory exhaust design. The valves in the factory rear exhaust are electronically controlled and gradually open and close depending on several factors of engine operation. Even under full throttle application in Sport mode the valves will still not stay open 100% of the time. The Performance Exhaust System eliminates both valves and factory muffling for an aggressive sound.

Increased exhaust diameter from an average of 2.75” on the factory system to 3.5” from turbo back for max power.

Tuned overall length and volume to create the most aggressive exhaust note without adding drone or rasp.

Integrated anti-drone helmholz chamber engineered to mitigate inherent drone frequencies present around 2,200-2,800 RPM.

Expect a constant symphony of growls and boost sound with added volume on decel which is noticeably lacking on the factory system. Overall volume is high but not extreme – we recommend this system for the enthusiast who is excited by a constant exhilarating experience during driving. Interior drone is minimal while cabin presence is active but not overbearing. Cruising on the highway in 7th gear is reasonable.


INCREASE PERFORMANCE

By eliminating the GPF filter and upgrading to an optimized catalytic converter and full 3.5” rear exhaust system, the massive increase in efficiency results in better response and a noticeably harder pull throughout the power curve. We have seen gains of over 50 whp and 40 ft-lbs of torque with factory software. Thanks to the Porsche eTurbo system, the gains come in immediately as if the engine has experienced an increase in displacement.

FACTORY INTEGRATION

Expect exceptional sound and performance with no check-engine lights or need for an ECU tune or OBD killer device. Our R&D team spent significant time with our project GTS to develop a higher flowing exhaust system that still effectively scrubs exhaust gasses AND satisfies the ECU’s stringent GPF metering system.

Premium SOUL designed 300 cell catalytic converter with custom specced precious metal catalyst coating and triple metal matrix core

Engineered provisions for GPF metering to prevent check engine lights

Using next-generation metal 3D printing technology, we engineered a 316L inlet to deliver optimum flow into the catalytic converter

Back purged TIG welding (with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas) ensures proper weld penetration for exceptional strength and longevity

Water jet cut brackets are made to ISO 9001:2015 standards with ultra-tight tolerances of +/- 0.003 inches for extreme precision

Fabricated using thick-gauge aluminum fixtures that act as a heat sink during the welding process to prevent any warpage

BOLT-ON AND GO

Every component undergoes rigorous quality control and is fixture-tested to guarantee precise fitment. After passing QC, each GTS exhaust system is carefully foam-packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. A new turbo gasket and necessary hardware is included.
